Renovation of the Porta Nuova building in Bergamo

The project concerns the complete restoration of the Porta Nuova building in the center of Bergamo.

The activities were:

• Structural reinforcement of floors
• Replacement of the roof by a suitable insulated package
• Replacement of existing windows by new thermal break ones
• Cleaning of facades
• Restoration/replacement of shutters
• Creation of a thermal room in the attic
• Skylight construction
• The precarious static conditions of the floors necessitated the complete replacement of the entire floor with obvious demolition of all existing internal partitions.

Also the roof has been completely replaced adapting it to the current thermal parameters using a package with insulation and also was inserted the lifeline near the ridge to ensure safe fall.

The facades, subject to deterioration due to the weather, were cleaned and new thermal and acoustic windows were installed.

All the internal partitions have been demolished to create a new distribution of the premises, in compliance with the current legislation on health and hygiene of the premises, arranging them in order to maximize different types of use of the spaces.
