A1 building at Polo Tecnologico

The building is organized on three ground floors and one underground. The ground floor is characterized by the presence of an impluvium that allows filtering of light to the surrounding areas. The north-west wall of the building is behind the red wall, while the west elevation integrates with the street that connects the parking lot to the Park. The main entrance is located on the northeast wing of the building, at park level. It’s a double entrance that leads to two separate entities, consisting of their own stairwells and elevator bodies, and independent services. The connection with the upper floors is through two staircases and elevators located in the center of the distribution space.

The educational and research spaces are organized on three floors, one of which is lower ground floor and two above ground. The two upper levels house the open-space for meeting rooms, classrooms and offices, while the lower level includes the hall, classrooms and the connecting and service spaces.
Facades of the building is intended as a visual extension of the Park, the vegetation is reflected on the facades, creating a continues and dilated perceptual effect of the Park.

The presence of protruding stripes marking, coated in white concrete prefabricated panels, that perform a dual function, a casing for the plant and a lug able to create shade areas in Summer and to ensure the sunshine during the winter, is a characteristic of the building.
