Building Information Modeling and procurement management
Building Information Modeling is a new design approach that creates a DIGITAL 3D MODEL THAT CAN ALWAYS BE SHARED between designers and clients to facilitate the design, construction and operational processes of the object that will be built.
For time optimization (4D) and greater cost control (5D), parametric objects (walls, doors, windows, floors, etc.) are created in the virtual model that contain a series of information such as materials, quantities, prices.
In this way the calculation process becomes only an extrapolation of data and for example with the incidence of labor on the single process it is possible to calculate the times and then put all the elements in sequence.
The sixth and seventh dimensions are related to sustainability (6D) and to the administrative and management aspects of a work (7D).
Energy efficiency, therefore the reduction of consumption and consequently of harmful emissions, is one of the global objectives in the entire construction sector. The sixth dimension of BIM allows to perform the analysis of the energy needs of the building.
The seventh dimension in fact concerns the entire life cycle of the building, its use and its maintenance.
